Time Map Group Reflection

Today's critique led me to consider the idea of narrative qualities existing within the artist's intent. Often times it takes another's perspective to uncover subconscious decisions that went into a piece. The members of my group were able to recognize my employment of repetition, which I had previously been unaware of. They sensed the chaotic, scattered and distracted nature of my piece, while I had felt that I was organizing my ideas in a logical way. Slightly removing myself from the piece allowed me to see this unconscious convolution. It is interesting to see how others perceive the emotions that are translated into a piece of work.
