Yawn | Project Four
For my final performance project, I decided to film myself yawning for two minutes. I wanted to do a human action that would elicit a reaction from the audience. I chose to focus on yawning for this project because of the interactive quality the final video will have with the audience. In this class, I have found an interest in human reactions to watching or listening to other human actions. It is fascinating how contagious yawning is; it is one if the most contagious actions a human can do.
I tried a couple of different options, with me acting out many actions, like scratching, yawning, fidgeting, etc, but it was more powerful with just the one action repeated multiple times. I plan to film the class as I show the video, as a part of and a continuation of the performance.
