Causality:
Basically this means cause and effect. Every
action has a reaction, events happen in a chain that allows for clear story
telling.
Narrative Compression:
It is when editing comes to play and
a narrative needs to be told in a fixed timeframe. For example, Harry Potter films tell a story
of a young wizard going through school in a 2-hour time frame. The causality of
the film and the way it is edited together makes it clear that these events
happened in a much longer time frame, but condensed into a 2-hour movie.
Nonnarrative:
Hardees burger commercials are a great
example. They are typically clips of zoomed in burgers and girls, narratively
it makes no sense but together they paint a picture of what Hardees is all
about.
6x6 project:
1.
Dancing to exhaustion
2.
Eating meals, type of food and amount of food
consumed comes to play
3.
Lights? Colors and maybe speed of flashing
lights?
