My project, titled “Lucidity”, is about our skeleton friend who randomly appears on screen. He doesn’t know whats going on around him, so he lays down. The rest of the stop motion takes place inside his own head, he dreams of being a different looking creature which happens to be a human. He’s confronted by two random creatures who take him on a journey through a colorful, magical world to discover treasure. Once finding it, you are reminded that the skeleton in the beginning is still laying on the floor, which is the reality of his life, and he’s just living in a dream world that is consuming his reality.
The ideas going on here were a combination between my original story board and the story I could create around the lego set I purchased to complete the project. I also tied in some personal experiences. I often find myself lost in thought or staring off into space thinking deeply about something, not really being present in that moment. It’s really a bad habit, but it helped spawn the concept behind my stop motion animation, which turned out to be a lot of fun to create.
I also uploaded a version with a song in the background - I think it's much more entertaining to watch this version.
